Jolt

"Flight test measurement of tail load has shown that abrupt pull-out maneuvers, even at moderate speeds, may result in unexpectedly large up loads on the horizontal tail if the stick is moved forward rapidly after or at instant of attaining the maximum acceleration. To avoid these high loads, and possible damage to the tail, pilots should in all cases move the stick smoothly and should not move it forward abruptly after reaching the maximum acceleration. The pilot can avoid the necessity for abrupt corrective action by being careful not to overshoot the maximum normal acceleration intended for the pull-out"
